Question: Doomsday Preppers only shows the extreme preppers for entertainment value. If you keep more than the FEMA recommended amount of 3 days worth of food and water in your house/apartment, you're a prepper. For some reason they all like saying "the end of the world." People always take that the wrong way and over-think it. It's more like the end of the way society runs as you know it. The military/gov't must be crazy under your definition because they're being trained for these scenarios as well. - Anonymous

Thank you for your comments concerning my inflammatory post about the stand up Americans featured on Doomsday Preppers. I should explain that I tend to exaggerate and even fall on the side of hyperbole from time to time, often for the sake of humor. I like to think that here at UYD For Life we try to keep things light, but perhaps calling the hard working patriots featured on NatGeo’s fine program “crazy” was insensitive.
As for the military and government, I’d love to clarify that I don’t believe they’re crazy for preparing for “the end of the way society runs as we know it,” especially since they haven’t been on top of certain things in the past (Katrina, anyone?). So let’s hope they’re running haz-mat drills and stocking up on back up generators because I’m not.
Listen, like I’ve said before, I’m a fucking idiot. If everything goes to hell, I’d like to think the government or military is going to be there to bail me out of the basement corner I’ll be cowering in. If anything, when it comes to the phrase “the end of the world”, I’m under thinking it because I go straight to zombies, Walking Dead style.
Seatbelts,
Caitlin

[I’ll be in Abiquiu. I have predicted and still foresee a final post-apocalyptic showdown between UYD Nation and the Gathering of the Juggalos. Winner gets the gene pool. Picture it: Strawberry Muscle Milk vs. Faygo. Seth and Jah continually podcasting day in and day out from a foxhole to keep the soldiers’ spirits up. HaikUYD prayer cards found crumpled in the limp hands of the dead. Once more into the breach! -Sethro]
