First off, I think by now you’ve caught on to the fact that my photoshop skillz comprise of me cutting and pasting people’s heads or bodies on top of some other shit and calling it a job well done. I put about 3 minutes of work on this one, but it’s not about the picture. It’s about the content. It’s about John Quiñones.

After TCAP went off the air, Dr. Hansen’s shoes were filled by none other than John Quiñones on the program What Would You Do? in which everyday people are given the choice to be a bystander or a hero. Quiñones does a Dr. Hansen kind of move where if you’re being a hometown hero and confronting an actor who’s being a total dick/racist/bully, he’ll pop out and be like, “Sup? I’m John Quiñones from What Would You Do? and you’re being a stand up individual.” (I’m paraphrasing).

Here are some example scenarios:

  • A Muslim woman tries to buy some shit at a bakery, but the cashier denies her any kind of service and kicks her out while yelling racist things at her.
  • On a sidewalk, three teenagers make fun of and beat up a homeless man in front of passerby.
  • A grocery bagger with very noticeable Down’s Syndrome is called a retard by an enraged shopper.
  • An Asian American woman berates her child for getting an A- on a test. Later the woman is replaced by a Caucasian woman. This has something to do with Tiger Moms or some shit. I don’t know…don’t get it.

The good thing about What Would You Do? is that it’s still on the air. The bad thing is that sometimes it makes you feel bad about yourself - there have definitely been a couple scenarios where I’d probably just keep walking because I don’t like getting into confrontations. Like the one where sorority girls were getting hazed in public and being forced to drink and wear stupid clothes. They were crying, but I kind of feel like in real life I’d think to myself, “Suck it up, yo.”

{Do I want to live in a world where everyone is super nice but only because they think it might make them look like good people on TV? It’s psychotic. I LOVE TELEVISION.}
